The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ayman Ashour, underscored the significance of empowering Egyptian women. He reiterated the Ministry’s unwavering commitment to leveraging its educational and research capabilities to implement the Egyptian Women’s Empowerment Strategy 2030, in harmony with Egypt’s vision for sustainable development and the guidance of its political leadership.

Ashour has highlighted several activities and events implemented by the Ministry to empower women and enhance their capacities and opportunities. The Institute for the Preparation of Leaders has also made efforts to raise awareness among university students about various societal issues and challenges. The units against violence against women in Egyptian universities play a crucial role in achieving gender equality, providing equal opportunities, and protecting women and girls from violence or discrimination on campus. These units offer essential services to ensure a safe and secure environment for all.

Dr. Ayman Ashour recently welcomed a delegation from the Royal British College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The delegation was headed by Dr. Rani Thacker, the President of the Faculty. During the meeting, they discussed academic cooperation in the field of women’s health. The aim is to support the partnership between the Faculty, the Supreme Council of Universities, and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals. The partnership seeks to draw on the College’s experience to enhance the level of medical service in the field of women’s health. They also aim to work together to transfer the College’s expertise to medical professionals working in women’s health.
