Microinsurance Conference Examines New Product Supplying Methods for Women

by Salma Hassan

To provide a comfortable life, a breadwinner requires a variety of insurance coverage, according to Nehal Brick, Chairman and Managing Director of Contact Insurance Brokerage.

During the talk on the second day of the third MicroInsurance Conference, Brick mentioned that health insurance and policies for children’s education are the most well-known types of coverage.

She emphasized that the insurance industry ought to work toward providing dependent women this kind of insurance coverage. She claimed that Contact Insurance Brokerage offered this kind of coverage to all of its clients, making it a company that had accomplished five of the sustainable development goals set forth by the UN.

She pointed out that in order to make micro-insurance plans more accessible to customers in Egypt, more effort needs to be done to modernize the market.

The Juhayna Company’s Director of External Communications, Basant Fouad, emphasized that meeting women’s financial and insurance needs is essential to achieving the goals of sustainable development in the market. She pointed out that women’s health and education needs are essential and this stands in the way of offering insurance products that meet their daily needs.

According to Fouad, a number of studies have demonstrated the critical role that women play in providing for their families, given the dire need for health and education in every governorate of the republic. Women also seek out money from other sources to spend on essential family members other than men, so an insurance policy that supports them in this endeavor is necessary.

She pointed out that although the company doesn’t always aim to engage in charitable business because it is unsustainable, Juhayna has always aimed to establish a shared value between the small enterprise and the breadwinner. Approximately 4,000 people work at the company, with 3,000 of them working in sales, also highlighting the fact that the company employs 24 women in different Al-Saeed governorates who work in the distribution department. Because it aims to provide affordable goods, the little business consistently generates good earnings for this group of women. An estimated 16 billion pounds could be supplied by the corporation each year.
