Maya Morsi Met with Mirela Becerović to Discuss Collaboration Opportunities Between Both Countries

Dr. Maya Morsi, the President of the National Council for Women (NCW), hosted a visit from Mirela Becerović, the wife of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is currently in Egypt.

The purpose of the visit was to study Egypt’s initiatives towards the empowerment and advancement of women in all areas. The meeting took place at the Council’s headquarters.

During the visit, they examined an exhibition showcasing Egyptian women’s handmade heritage crafts, and they also visited the Women’s Complaints Office to learn how they handle women’s complaints.

During her speech, Dr. Maya Morsy highlighted the crucial role of the Council in raising awareness about women’s issues through door-knocking campaigns organized in various governorates of the Republic.

Additionally, she emphasized the significance of using drama as a tool to educate society and bring attention to women’s issues. In this regard, she mentioned the cartoon series “Noura,” which the Council launched under the National Framework for Investment in Girls, with the endorsement of Entissar al-Sisi. This initiative aims to promote girls’ awareness of different pertinent issues.

She also referred to “Tahousha” project, a part of the Women’s Financial Inclusion Program, which aims to empower women economically. from Mirela Becerović, the wife of the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, praised the Egyptian Government’s efforts to empower women and protect them from all forms of violence.

Mirela Becherović has indicated her interest in seeking the support and guidance of the National Council of Women in the matter of empowering and safeguarding women. She also expressed her intent to learn from the experiences of the Women’s Complaints Office and apply them in her own country.

Dr. Maya Morsy accompanied by Mirela Becherović, during their visit to the Children’s Hospital 75375. They were warmly welcomed by children who were undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital.

The President of Bosnia and Herzegovina praised the hospital and its distinguished medical team, who provide cancer treatment free of charge and conduct advanced research in this field. During the visit, the guests presented roses to the children, bringing joy and comfort to their day.
