During Christmas celebrations, the Ministry of Health and Population has provided health awareness to over 700,000 citizens across all governorates.

As part of its continued effort to promote healthy living habits and encourage adherence to preventative measures, the teams emphasized the need to follow healthy methods and correct eating habits, particularly during winter.

Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the ministry’s official spokesperson, reported that the health awareness program was conducted in various locations, including St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiya, as well as churches and monasteries in all governorates of the republic. During the Christmas celebrations, the community communication teams provided awareness on the importance and methods of preventing infectious and respiratory diseases and introduced the services of the “100 Million Health” initiative offered by the ministry.

In addition, the teams highlighted the significance of population control and family planning services provided by primary care units, family planning clinics and centers, public gardens, parks, main squares and gathering places. Medical examinations and free treatment were also provided to 90,000 citizens, through 72 mobile clinics in all governorates of the republic, under the slogan “100 Million Health.”

The “100 Million Health” initiative included services such as the treatment of chronic diseases, detection of kidney disease, cancer diagnosis and treatment, women’s health support, maternal and fetal health care, oral and dental health clinics, and family planning services.
