Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar conferred Sunday with Managing Director for MSD Egypt Hazem Abdel Samie on efforts to secure the most advanced immunotherapy treatments for breast cancer at suitable prices.

The medication should be provided for beneficiaries from the health insurance and treatment-at-state-expense systems, Abdel Ghaffar said, noting that this is done as part of a presidential initiative to support women’s health.
He said his Ministry has worked with the Unified Procurement Authority (UPA) and MSD Egypt to make available this treatment with the aim to alleviate the burden on patients with breast cancer and allow their easy access to medication.
The meeting also took up cooperation between the Ministry and MSD Egypt to promote health awareness among citizens, said Ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.
