The National Council for Women’s Chairperson, Counselor Amal Ammar, , affirmed that Egypt’s female students are the “great women of this nation and the leaders of its future.” Her remarks came during the closing ceremony of the fourth edition of the pioneering program “She Leads”, a national initiative designed to support and empower young women in technical education.
Held on April 27, 2025, the event brought together students, educators, government officials, and private sector partners to honor innovative student projects and celebrate the growing importance of vocational education in Egypt’s development strategy.
Empowering Girls Through Technical Education
Ammar praised the “She Leads” program for its unique role in equipping female students with the tools and confidence to develop socially impactful, income-generating projects.
Ammar emphasized that vocational and technical education is no longer a luxury, but a national necessity for meeting labor market demands and driving industrial and economic progress. “Empowering girls through technical education is not just a path of study—it’s a gateway to opportunity and innovation in every sector,” she noted.
A Platform for Sustainable Development
The “She Leads” initiative was launched by the Youth Leaders Foundation in partnership with key private and public sector stakeholders, including Telecom Egypt, Banque Misr, Apache Corporation, and Madkour Group. The program aligns with Egypt’s broader sustainable development goals by supporting gender equality, quality education, and youth leadership.
The closing event also marked the launch of a brand-new initiative: “Republic Schools Leaders,” a program that targets student leaders from across Egypt’s schools, laying the foundation for the first elected national student union president. The initiative is designed to nurture youth leadership skills and foster civic responsibility.
A Celebration of Talent and Leadership
Held under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health and Population, the ceremony reflected strong governmental support. The program also operates in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, Ministry of Social Solidarity, and under the umbrella of Egypt’s Ministerial Committee for Human Development.
Counselor Ammar concluded by expressing pride in all the participants, winners and non-winners alike, acknowledging the high quality and creativity of every project submitted. “Every girl who participated has already made a mark,” she said, urging continued investment in female-led innovation and inclusive educational reform.
A Vision Forward
“She Leads” continues to be a groundbreaking model for promoting girls’ leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurial thinking in technical fields—areas traditionally underserved by women. By combining real-world skills, mentorship, and cross-sector collaboration, the program serves as a blueprint for building a more inclusive and economically resilient Egypt.
