Egypt’s Ministry of Labour Indicates Women Are Entitled to Take Two Years of Unpaid Leave

The Egyptian Ministry of Labour launched “Know Your Rights at Work” to educate working women about their legal rights.

The Ministry of Labour in cooperation with the ILO Cairo Office is gearing up to launch a “Guidance Guide for Ministry of Labor Inspectors on Gender-Sensitive Inspection and Equitable Transition towards Green Jobs.”

This initiative is part of a larger effort to promote gender equality in the workplace in Egypt through projects like “Project to Promote Gender Equality in the Workplace in Egypt” and “Joint Program to Promote Productive Employment and Decent Work for Women in Egypt, Jordan, and Palestine.”
