Egypt’s Daylight-Saving Come to An End Starting Friday

by Nada Khaled

Egypt will switch back to standard time on Friday at midnight. Egyptian citizens and residents will receive an alert to adjust the date from Friday, 12 a.m. to Thursday, 11 p.m., and to reset their clocks with a 60-minute delay.

After years of absence, the Egyptian Cabinet decided to restore daylight saving time in March of last year.

It’s worth mentioning that Egypt started daylight saving back on April 27. Citizens were then asked to set their clocks for 60 minutes forward at midnight on Friday, April 28. Accordingly, the clock was turned from 00:00 Friday, 28/4/2023 to 1:00 Friday, 28/4/2023.
