The fifth round of the political consultations and follow-up committee between Egypt and Saudi Arabia wound up in the Saudi capital on Thursday. The round was held at the level of foreign ministers.
Ahmed Abu Zeid, the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry, said Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met his Saudi counterpart Faisal ben Farhan ahead of the meeting.
An expanded session of talks took place, covering issues related to bilateral relations and regional and international issues.
They exchanged viewpoints towards the current international developments and agreed on maintaining coordination towards international crises.
The discussions tackled the developments of the Palestinian issue, the situation in Libya, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen, and other regional issues.
In the end, a joint statement was issued on all topics that were tackled by the political consultations committee.
