Madinaty Golf Club in Egypt and Victoria Golf Resort in Sri Lanka have recently signed the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter, joining a number of other Troon International facilities from the Middle East. This global initiative aims to increase the number of women and girls participating in golf, as well as create more opportunities for women to work in the golf industry.

DJ Flanders, Vice President of Troon International, expressed his excitement over the signing of The R&A’s Women in Golf Charter by Madinaty Golf Club and Victoria Golf Resort. He said that this demonstrates their commitment to expanding the number of women and girls who participate in golf in Egypt and Sri Lanka. By introducing local women and girls to the game of golf and offering them an enjoyable and accessible golf club experience, they can positively impact the future of the sport in Sri Lanka and Egypt.

The Women in Golf Charter has already received pledges of support from over 1,300 organizations worldwide, including 22 golf clubs in the UAE. Jackie Davidson, Director of Golf Development at The R&A, expressed her delight at seeing more organizations commit to women’s golf and making it a more accessible and inclusive sport. She believes that the Charter has helped to galvanize the golf industry around a shared vision for golf and driven change.
