Egypt, Palestine in Talks to Improve Bilateral Cooperation

Palestinian Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister, Mahmoud Abu Mwais discussed Thursday with Egypt’s Ambassador to Palestine, Ihab Suliman ways of boosting bilateral cooperation in the higher education and scientific research sphere.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Palestine and Egypt in the higher education and scientific research field.

They also tackled ways of propelling bilateral cooperation, especially at the level of scholarships and promoting partnerships between researchers, students and academic cadres in Egyptian and the Palestinian universities.

The Palestinian minister, meanwhile, pointed out to the close ties binding Egypt and Palestine, hailing the crucial role played by Egypt in supporting the Palestinian cause.

Moreover, Abu Mwais reviewed the situation of the higher education sector in Palestine and efforts exerted by his ministry to enhance this sector.

He further underlined the importance of signing the MoU between the two countries in the near future.

For his part, the Egyptian ambassador affirmed his keenness on enhancing cooperation with Palestine, especially in areas related to the higher education and scientific research sector.

Hailing the historical ties between the Egyptians and Palestinians, the ambassador also underlined the importance of signing the MoU, with a view to further expanding bilateral cooperation.
