Egypt Extends Foreign Yacht Tourists’ Visas to Enhance Tourism

by Nada Khaled

Yesterday, July 25, the Egyptian Ministry of Transport announced that the state took the initiative to grant foreign yacht tourists 3-month visas instead of the previous one-month allowance.

The Ministry stated that this decision mostly benefits individuals who may face unexpected circumstances preventing them from leaving Egypt within their initial visa period, according to Amwal Al Ghad Website.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed Egyptian embassies and consulates to grant yacht tourists three-month tourist visas instead of the usual 30-day stay issued in the past.

Notably, the Egyptian state aims to position itself as a premier destination for yacht tourism. Moreover, the Egyptian tourism sector expects to receive 15 million tourists in 2023, which serves as a direct source of bringing hard currency into the country and elevating Egypt’s economy.
