The upcoming Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles, US, in 2028. At this edition, one competition will be removed and replaced with another. All the traditional Olympic events have been included in the schedule, except for breakdancing, according to Sada El Balad.

As of the next edition, the 2028 L.A. Games will no longer feature breakdancing; cricket will replace it. This decision came prior to the beginning of the Summer Olympics.

Breakdancing made its Olympic debut in this edition. Japan won gold in the B-girls event, while Canada came out on top in the B-boys.

Some viewers criticized the recent breaking competition, mainly because of the performance of Australian competitor Rachael Gunn, also known as Raygun. The 36-year-old defended herself after her routine went viral on social media.

Following her failure to score any points in her three breaking battles, Raygun expressed her disappointment that breaking would not be featured at the 2028 Games.

She stated: It was disappointing that it wasn’t included in L.A., especially before we even had a chance to showcase it. That decision may have been premature. I wonder if they’re regretting it now.

On the other hand, the 2028 Olympics will see the much-anticipated return of cricket after a 128-year absence, sparking excitement among sports enthusiasts.

Cricket was previously featured for one edition in 1900 and will be played in a Twenty-20 format.

Cricket will not be included alone, but baseball, softball, and lacrosse will also make their return for the games. Importantly, skateboarding and climbing will remain as permanent events, providing reassurance to their fans.
