Arab Government Excellence Award 2025 Now Open to Egyptian Institutions and Leaders

Mona Yousef

As part of a growing strategic alliance between Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, Egypt’s Ministry of Planning and Economic Development has announced the launch of the fourth edition of the Arab Government Excellence Award 2025, inviting nominations from public institutions and individuals across the Arab world.

The initiative comes under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.

According to Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, the award highlights successful administrative practices and honors exceptional government personnel across the Arab region. It also aims to promote a culture of excellence, innovation, and digital transformation within government institutions, in line with Egypt’s broader vision to modernize its administrative apparatus and enhance service quality.

“The Arab Government Excellence Award is a regional platform that showcases positive leadership, encourages institutional development, and fosters smart government practices,” Dr. Al-Mashat said. “It reflects Egypt’s strong commitment to building a results-driven and citizen-focused public sector.”

This year’s edition includes 15 categories covering both institutional and individual awards. The Ministry’s Egypt Government Excellence Award Office will serve as the national coordinator for Egyptian applicants. Government entities and public servants across the country are invited to submit their nominations through the official award website.

Submissions will be accepted until August 31, 2025 via the platform www.ageaward.com, and detailed information can be found in the official award guide, available for download here.

Egypt’s performance in the previous edition of the award was notable, with 554 applications submitted, 21 candidates reaching the finals, and four Egyptian winners receiving regional recognition. Among them were Dr. Manal Awad, who was awarded Best Arab Governor for her leadership in Damietta, and Dr. Mai Abdel Hamid, who won Best Director General of an Arab Authority for her work with the Social Housing Fund.

The 2025 award cycle seeks to build on this momentum by encouraging broader participation from across Egypt’s public sector—particularly in areas related to sustainability, digital transformation, service innovation, and local development.

The Ministry of Planning reaffirmed Egypt’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of institutional and individual excellence, and emphasized the importance of documenting and sharing successful initiatives that improve citizens’ lives and contribute to national development goals.
