Egyptian Minister of Tourism Rania al Mashat, was honoured by the International Institute for Peace through Tourism (IIPT), as part of the “Celebrating Her” awards, for her efforts and leading role in Egypt’s tourism sector. She is the first Arab and African woman to receive this award.
Dr. Rania al Mashat received the award for Tourism Policy and Leadership from the First Lady of Iceland who was also nominated as UN Special Ambassador for Tourism and the Sustainable Development.
Rania al Mashat expressed her happiness for receiving this award, dedicating it, on the International Women’s Day, to the Egyptian women who proved their abilities in playing major roles in their society and serving in senior positions. She also referred to her country’s support to the Egyptian women.
