“Africa Grows Green Awards” Launched By Egypt’s Environment Ministry And ISTIDAMA

The Ministry of Environment in Egypt and the Association for the Sustainable Quality of Living (ISTIDAMA) have partnered to launch the second edition of the “Africa Grows Green Awards” during COP28 in Dubai, UAE.

 During the signing ceremony, Aly Abu Senna, Chair of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency, represented the government while Reem Abd EL Meguid, Chair of the Board of Trustees of ISTIDAMA, represented the association.

Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment and COP27 Envoy, emphasized the significance of the awards in addressing climate change and promoting a greener future for Africa and the world. She also praised the winners of the first edition of the awards celebrated at COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh.

Abu Senna assured that the EEAA would provide technical and logistical support for the awards, while Abdel-Meguid announced that the awards have a new strategic partner – Plug & Play and Canal Sugar sponsors.

Applications for the awards are now open and will close on 20th October 2023.
