National Cancer Institute Launches Free Medical Convoy in Manshiet Nasser to Support Women’s Health and Early Cancer Detection

In a significant step toward expanding access to healthcare services, the National Cancer Institute is organizing a free medical convoy in Manshiet Nasser in collaboration with the Presidential Initiative for Women’s Health and the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine at Cairo University. The convoy will take place from June 6 to June 8 under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Sami Abdel Sadek.

According to Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Moati Mohamed Samra, the initiative reflects Cairo University’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, support for national healthcare initiatives, and the advancement of sustainable development goals. The medical convoy will provide free examinations, treatment services, and health education programs for residents of Manshiet Nasser.

The services will be available daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Manshiet Nasser Youth Center, offering access to a wide range of medical specialties through integrated teams from several university healthcare sectors.

Specialized Medical Services Across Three Days

The first day of the convoy will focus on:

On the second day, residents will have access to:

The third day will provide:

  • Rheumatology
  • Raising Awareness About Cancer Prevention

Prof. Samra emphasized that the participation of the National Cancer Institute extends beyond medical treatment. Specialized teams will also conduct educational sessions focused on cancer prevention, risk factors, and the importance of early diagnosis. These awareness activities aim to improve early detection rates and enhance treatment outcomes for patients.

He noted that the institute continues to play a leading role in delivering advanced oncology services while supporting national efforts to improve healthcare access, particularly in underserved communities.

Dental Care and Oral Health Education

Dr. Geraldine Mohamed Ahmed highlighted that the Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine will provide comprehensive dental examinations and treatment services during the convoy. Cases requiring advanced interventions will be referred to the faculty’s specialized clinics for continued care.

The faculty will also organize oral health awareness sessions, emphasizing preventive dental care and the importance of early detection of oral health conditions. These efforts reinforce the role of oral health as a fundamental component of overall well-being and quality of life.
