In a dedicated effort to foster community awareness and support family stability, the National Council for Women (NCW) branch in Beheira has implemented a series of seminars under the Family Counseling and Balanced Upbringing program. This initiative aims to build a well-balanced generation both psychologically and socially while reinforcing the foundations of the Egyptian family.
These activities are part of the National Project for Egyptian Family Development, a presidential initiative directed toward improving the quality of life for citizens. The events were held under the supervision of Engineer Zakia Rashad, Rapporteur of the NCW Beheira branch, and following the directives of Amal Abdel Moneim, Director of the Women’s Complaints Office at the NCW General Secretariat. The seminars were executed across several villages in the Shubrakhit district in collaboration with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa.
The outreach program successfully reached 16 villages within the Shubrakhit district, including Abu Manjud, Abtok, Kafr El-Sabi, Ezbet Ghazal, Ezbet Al-Zawawi, Al-Ezba Al-Ansariya, Farnuwi, Al-Rabdan, Sarhan, Ezbet Ali Hafez Al-Qibliya, Ezbet Ali Bek, Laqana, Mahallat Nasr, Al-Hamisa, Ezbet Al-Aryan, and Selim Pasha. This wide-reaching campaign ensured that essential guidance reached the heart of rural communities.
Focusing on comprehensive family support, the seminars addressed several vital pillars. Discussions included how to choose a life partner based on sound principles, marital counseling, and proper care during pregnancy and childbirth. Significant emphasis was placed on the importance of breastfeeding, stages of child development, and the correct ways to manage social inclusion for persons with disabilities within the family and society.

Expert trainers and specialists in family counseling, education, and mental health led the sessions. The information was presented in a simplified and interactive manner tailored to the rural context, allowing for open dialogue and answering the daily challenges faced by Egyptian families.
Engineer Zakia Rashad emphasized that these seminars align with the goals of the National Council for Women, headed by Counselor Amal Ammar, to fulfill the objectives of the National Project for Egyptian Family Development. She noted that the collaboration with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Al-Azhar International Center for Electronic Fatwa ensures the delivery of moderate and constructive messages. These efforts promote family cohesion, proper upbringing, and a culture of dialogue, ultimately addressing social challenges and fostering a more stable and aware society.
