Gaza Women’s Film Festival Reveals Official Poster Blending Palestinian Heritage and Symbolism

Amira El Gamal

The management of the Gaza International Women’s Film Festival, headed and founded by Ezzedine Shallah, in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, has announced the official poster for the festival’s second edition. The event is scheduled to take place from October 26 to 31, 2026, in Gaza City, with participation from filmmakers from Palestine and several countries around the world. The second edition is held under the theme “Women Create Life from Death,” reflecting the strength of Palestinian women and their ability to transform pain into hope despite ongoing challenges.

The visual identity of the poster blends cinematic symbolism with elements of Palestinian heritage. It features a woman whose eyes are covered by a film strip, alongside traditional cultural motifs and white doves symbolizing life, peace, and resilience. The festival organizers reaffirmed their continued commitment to supporting women’s cinema and emerging female voices in filmmaking, announcing that submissions for narrative and documentary films from around the world will open soon.
