The Egyptian government, represented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, continues to provide specialized training programs designed for different fitness levels while promoting sports culture across all segments of society and creating opportunities for participation in various athletic activities. The ministry is also expanding initiatives aimed at supporting women and girls through sports.
Supporting Women’s Health and Empowerment
As part of efforts to empower Egyptian women and promote physical well-being, a women-focused fitness project was launched at the Abu Al Rish Bahary Youth Center in Aswan. The initiative comes within the framework of national programs supporting women and girls and aims to provide a safe and encouraging environment for practicing sports and physical activities. The training sessions are supervised by female coaches with extensive experience in women’s fitness training.
In another step toward strengthening women’s participation in sports, the taekwondo hall at Aswan Sporting Club has witnessed strong participation from girls and women through the “Egyptians’ Fitness” initiative. The initiative reflects the state’s broader commitment to spreading sports culture and expanding access to athletic activities across society. The program provides a supportive training environment for girls and women while offering specialized taekwondo training supervised by experienced female trainers who contribute to developing participants’ athletic skills.
The initiative’s training sessions include a variety of taekwondo techniques and methods aimed at improving physical fitness, enhancing self-confidence, and developing discipline and resilience. The program also creates opportunities for social interaction among participants and encourages the exchange of experiences and knowledge. Participants expressed their satisfaction with the initiative, stating that it has helped improve both their physical and psychological well-being while positively changing their lifestyles. They also praised organizers for providing continuous support and encouragement.
“Egyptians’ Fitness” Initiative

Within the framework of the presidential initiative to improve physical fitness and public health, the national “Egyptians’ Fitness” project was launched to target all age groups, with a particular focus on older adults, especially men aged 40 and above. The initiative aims to encourage regular physical activity and healthy lifestyles due to their significant benefits for both physical and mental health.
Among the project’s objectives are improving cardiovascular health, strengthening bones and joints, maintaining healthy weight levels, and helping prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension. The initiative also seeks to support mental well-being by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression while improving mood, sleep quality, and self-confidence. In addition, the project aims to improve overall quality of life by enhancing mobility, encouraging independence, increasing participation in social activities, and promoting more active and energetic lifestyles.
The initiative aligns with Egypt’s National Human Rights Strategy and the country’s Vision 2030 goals, while seeking to improve overall physical, psychological, and social well-being and expand opportunities for citizens to engage in regular moderate exercise in a positive and supportive community environment.
