Dr. Ghada Kandil, a highly regarded banking executive, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Gezira Sporting Club for the 2025–2029 term, securing 5,121 votes in the club’s general assembly elections.
With a background in banking and institutional governance, Dr. Kandil is expected to bring a measured, disciplined approach to the board’s work, contributing to sound decision-making and effective oversight.
Dr. Kandil has held leadership and advisory roles that required a high level of strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and organizational oversight.
Her victory also carries broader significance for women’s representation in sports administration. The presence of women with strong professional backgrounds on the boards of major sports clubs is increasingly viewed as an important step toward more inclusive and balanced decision-making structures.
Gezira Sporting Club, one of Egypt’s long- established social and sporting institutions, has in recent years placed greater emphasis on governance reform and institutional development.
