Under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the third edition of the World Conference on Population, Health, and Human Development (PHDC’25), which runs from November 12–15, 2025, in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

Held this year under the theme “Empowering People… Advancing Progress… Expanding Opportunities,” the conference spotlights “Investing in Healthcare: The Cornerstone of Sustainable Human Development.”

PHDC’25 serves as a global platform for innovation and policy dialogue, bringing together world leaders, policymakers, experts, and innovators to explore challenges and opportunities in public health, demographic dynamics, migration, health tourism, youth empowerment, education, AI, and healthcare economics. The goal: shaping sustainable strategies that advance human dignity, equality, and inclusive growth in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030.

Health at the Heart of Human Development

In his opening address, Prime Minister Madbouly underscored that public health is a top national priority within Egypt’s human development strategy, reflecting the strong commitment of President El-Sisi to building human capital and achieving sustainable development.

He highlighted key national initiatives such as:

  • “A New Beginning for Building the Egyptian Citizen” – a unified framework connecting health, education, and social protection.
  • “100 Million Healthy Lives” – which provided comprehensive healthcare services to over 95% of Egyptians, reducing infant mortality by 30%.
  • The National Strategy for Population and Development (2023–2030) – designed to balance population growth with improved quality of life.
  • The Presidential Initiative “Decent Life (Hayah Karima)” – integrating health, education, and social equity in rural development to achieve universal health coverage.

Madbouly emphasized that health is not only a human right but also a foundation for economic and social progress, calling for international partnerships in healthcare research, innovation, and financing, especially for developing nations.

Women, Inclusion, and the Health Economy

The 2025 conference places a special focus on women’s empowerment and the care economy, recognizing the economic and social value of caregiving work and its role as a pillar of sustainable growth. Discussions also explore social protection and equitable access to services, aiming to reduce poverty and narrow social gaps.

PHDC’25 also highlights the Smart Digital Health Gate, an exhibition showcasing Egypt’s digital transformation in healthcare, offering 24 accredited CPD/CME training hours for participating medical professionals.

A Platform for Global Cooperation

Prime Minister Madbouly expressed optimism that PHDC’25 will generate practical, forward-looking recommendations to build a healthier and more equitable world. He reaffirmed that Egypt remains open to international collaboration to advance sustainable human development for future generations.
