“Treasures of the Pharaohs” Exhibition in Rome Draws Strong Public Interest in Egypt’s Timeless Heritage

The “Treasures of the Pharaohs” exhibition, now open at Scuderie del Quirinale in the Italian capital, has been met with remarkable public enthusiasm following its official inauguration by Italian President Sergio Mattarella.

Marking a major cultural milestone, the exhibition stands as the second-largest Egyptian archaeological showcase ever held in Italy, following the landmark Palazzo Grassi exhibition in Venice (2002–2003), which explored the role of pharaohs during Egypt’s New Kingdom era.

Curated with exceptional attention to detail, the exhibition’s selection of artifacts draws inspiration from ancient Roman writings that depicted Egypt as a land of magic, mystery, and grandeur. Organizers emphasized that the chosen pieces reflect the splendor of that imagery, brought to life through an innovative museological display designed to highlight both the beauty and the profound historical significance of Egypt’s ancient civilization.

Opened to the public on October 24, the exhibition will run through May 2026, offering visitors an unparalleled opportunity to engage with Egypt’s rich cultural legacy and explore some of its most extraordinary antiquities.

With its impressive curation and artistic storytelling, “Treasures of the Pharaohs” not only deepens Italy’s long-standing cultural ties with Egypt but also reaffirms the enduring global fascination with one of the world’s oldest and most influential civilizations.
