L’Oréal Egypt marked a significant milestone in dermatological science and innovation with the 10th edition of its annual “Skin & Hair Summit 2025”, reinforcing its commitment to research, education, and social impact across the Egyptian healthcare sector.
Bringing together over 800 dermatologists, pharmacists, and medical professionals from Egypt and the wider Arab region, the summit served as a hub for sharing the latest scientific developments in skin and hair health. Held under the theme of “Science, Empowerment, and Impact”, the event reflects L’Oréal’s broader vision of making advanced dermatological solutions more accessible across the country.
A Legacy of Science at the Core of Beauty
Speaking at the summit, Sandrine Japhet-Sibboni, General Manager of L’Oréal’s Dermatological Beauty Division in Egypt, highlighted the brand’s roots in science:
“L’Oréal was born from science — founded by a visionary chemist. Today, we remain driven by evidence-based innovation, working alongside healthcare professionals in Egypt and beyond to ensure meaningful, tangible impact in dermatology.”
Japhet-Sibboni emphasized three pillars guiding the company’s mission: science, education and empowerment, and social impact — elements that continue to shape its long-term partnerships and community programs in Egypt.
From 250 to 800: A Decade of Dermatological Excellence
What began in 2016 as a gathering of 250 specialists has since evolved into the leading regional summit for dermatological advancement. Over the past decade, the Skin & Hair Summit has established itself as a critical platform for scientific dialogue, medical training, and global collaboration.
This year’s summit featured contributions from top Egyptian universities, healthcare institutions, and renowned international experts, showcasing new research on skin diseases, hair disorders, and personalized treatment strategies.
Expanding Access to Care: New MoUs and CSR Initiatives
In a strategic move during the summit, L’Oréal Egypt signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Healthcare Authority to enhance dermatological care access nationwide. This partnership aims to provide better resources, training, and diagnostic tools across the public healthcare system.
Further strengthening its corporate social responsibility (CSR) footprint, L’Oréal also announced the establishment of a Dermato-Oncology Unit at Baheya Foundation in collaboration with La Roche-Posay, as part of its “Fight With Care” initiative. Spearheaded by Professor Rehab Hegazy, the unit will support cancer patients throughout their treatment journey, offering holistic skin care solutions tailored to oncology needs.
Bridging Science and Digital Innovation
In response to the growing importance of digital medical education, the summit also hosted the third edition of the “E-Derms Academy”, a training program that equips dermatologists to share accurate, ethical medical content on social media and digital platforms.
The sessions also encouraged cross-sector collaboration between healthcare providers, pharmacists, and retailers — with an emphasis on sustainability and improving patient experience through educational outreach and therapeutic support.
A Vision for the Future
Mohamed El Arabi, Chairman of L’Oréal Egypt, concluded the summit by reiterating the company’s commitment to shaping the future of healthcare and beauty in Egypt:
“Our mission is clear — to create beauty that moves the world. This summit showcases our enduring commitment to science, innovation, and empowering the medical community to deliver lasting change for patients and society.”
As L’Oréal Egypt continues to grow its influence in dermatological health, the Skin & Hair Summit stands as a testament to the power of science-led collaboration in improving patient outcomes and supporting Egypt’s healthcare transformation.
