In a powerful affirmation of Egypt’s leadership in fostering Arab unity and youth empowerment, the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports, in cooperation with the League of Arab States, has officially launched the third edition of the Arab Youth Parliament Simulation Model under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The event will run from October 11 to 18, 2025, under the theme: “My Identity… Arab”.
With the participation of 60 young men and women from 12 Arab countries — including Egypt, Palestine, Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Tunisia, the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Jordan, Somalia, and Mauritania — the initiative stands as a landmark regional platform to foster Arab identity, solidarity, and youth dialogue.
Vision for Arab Youth Unity
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, emphasized the significance of hosting this event in Cairo.
“Egypt opens its arms to the youth of the Arab world as a beacon of unity and belonging,” Sobhy said. “This simulation is not merely a political exercise — it is a celebration of shared heritage, mutual understanding, and the aspiration for a unified Arab future.”
Dr. Sobhy described the initiative as a leading Arab platform for free youth expression, promoting values of peace, coexistence, and mutual respect, in line with President El-Sisi’s vision of empowering Arab youth and fostering intra-regional collaboration.
Goals and Activities of the Simulation
The Arab Youth Parliament Simulation Model seeks to:
- Instill a sense of loyalty and belonging to the collective Arab identity.
- Enhance intercultural dialogue and acceptance of diversity within the Arab world.
- Establish sustainable communication channels among Arab youth.
- Promote inter-parliamentary cooperation among youth institutions.
The week-long program includes interactive workshops, cultural and recreational activities, and field visits designed to bridge historical, cultural, and political understanding among participants.
Immersive Experience in Egypt’s Cultural and Political Landscape
As part of the simulation, participants will visit prominent Egyptian institutions, including:
- The House of Representatives and The Senate.
- The Grand Egyptian Museum.
- The New Administrative Capital’s City of Arts and Culture.
- The Islamic Cultural Center and The Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ.
In a show of solidarity with the Palestinian people, the youth delegation will also visit the Egyptian Red Crescent headquarters to participate in assembling humanitarian aid for Gaza and write messages of support to the Palestinian people.
These activities are being organized by the Central Administration for Civic Education and the General Administration of the Youth and Pioneers Parliament.
Egypt’s Regional Role in Youth Development
This simulation model is a continuation of Egypt’s efforts to establish itself as a regional hub for youth diplomacy, cultural exchange, and leadership development.
By bringing together young leaders from across the Arab world, Egypt reinforces the values of Arab unity, strategic cooperation, and people-to-people diplomacy.
