Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, concluded a strategic round of high-level meetings in New York this week, aimed at expanding U.S. investment in Egypt’s rapidly growing digital outsourcing sector and forging deeper partnerships in digital skills development.
The meetings brought together senior executives from leading American technology, automation, and service companies, reinforcing Egypt’s positioning as an emerging global hub for cross-border digital services. Discussions centered around Egypt’s national outsourcing strategy — a robust framework offering tailored incentives for international investors, a multilingual tech-savvy workforce, and a growing portfolio of digital infrastructure assets.
Strategic Partnerships with U.S. Technology Leaders
Talaat’s first meeting was with John Abu, Chairperson of TTEC, a global leader in customer experience (CX) and digital transformation services. Talks focused on scaling TTEC’s operations in Egypt, particularly through TTEC Digital, the company’s innovation-driven subsidiary. The collaboration builds on the February 2025 inauguration of TTEC’s new facility in Maadi Technology Park, which leverages Egypt’s multilingual workforce to serve international clients across the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East.
“TTEC sees Egypt as a strategic destination for digital delivery,” Abu noted. “We are committed to deepening our presence here.”
Smart Cities and Advanced Manufacturing with Honeywell
In a separate engagement, Talaat met with Balazs Toth, Vice President and General Manager at Honeywell, to explore expansion opportunities for the company’s Centre of Excellence in Egypt. Discussions emphasized deploying Honeywell’s smart city solutions and automation technologies across Egypt’s new urban developments.
The leaders also discussed educational collaborations with Egypt University of Informatics (EUI) to co-develop digital upskilling programs aimed at cultivating next-generation talent in smart infrastructure and industrial IoT.
Kraft Heinz: Expansion of AI-Driven Services in Egypt
Talaat also held talks with Bill Behrens, Vice President of Government Affairs at Kraft Heinz, a global food industry leader currently accelerating its digital transformation. The dialogue centered on expanding Kraft Heinz’s AI-powered marketing operations and scaling its global service centers model in Egypt, underpinned by the country’s skilled digital workforce.
“Kraft Heinz sees Egypt not only as a delivery hub but as a driver of innovation within our global operations,” Behrens said.
Risk Management Giant Archer Grows Middle East Footprint
Further meetings included strategic discussions with Jeff Longoria, Chief Commercial Officer of Archer, and Dan Deroza, the company’s Head of Marketing and Products. Archer, a U.S.-based firm specializing in risk management and IT services, recently established its first Middle East service center in Cairo — now a multi-functional operation delivering engineering, R&D, and multilingual support services.
The executives praised the performance and technical expertise of their Egyptian teams and expressed interest in collaborating with EUI to build specialized talent pipelines in cybersecurity and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) services.
Egypt: A Gateway for Global Digital Services
The delegation accompanying Minister Talaat included key officials: Ahmed Elzaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA); Sherine Elgendy, Assistant Minister for Strategy and Implementation; and Samah Aziz, Head of International Relations at the Ministry.
Their collective message underscored Egypt’s commitment to nurturing an inclusive, future-ready digital economy. The country’s national outsourcing strategy — launched in 2022 — offers incentives across training, infrastructure, and operational support, attracting major multinationals seeking resilient, cost-effective digital delivery models.
As global companies increasingly seek diversified outsourcing destinations, Egypt’s blend of geographic accessibility, multilingual talent, and government support is solidifying its role as a go-to location for digital operations.
Egypt’s Digital Economy Vision
Under Dr. Talaat’s leadership, Egypt’s ICT sector has become one of the country’s fastest-growing economic pillars, achieving double-digit growth rates and contributing significantly to national GDP. Recent government initiatives — including the launch of EUI and digital capacity-building programs — are designed to create over 200,000 digitally skilled jobs by 2026.
