Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare (GAH) in Egypt, and Dan Munyuza, Rwanda’s Ambassador to Egypt, visited Beheya Sheikh Zayed Hospital. This visit, aimed at advancing specialized healthcare services and promoting medical tourism, underscores the growing partnership between Egypt and Rwanda in supporting women’s health across Africa.

Dr. El-Sobky and Ambassador Munyuza were welcomed by Dr. Mohamed Amara, Executive Director of Beheya’s hospitals and medical projects, along with key officials from the Beheya Foundation. The visit focused on the shared goals of enhancing healthcare services, particularly in the area of breast cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment, while promoting the exchange of expertise between Egypt and Rwanda.

During the visit, Dr. El-Sobky lauded Beheya Sheikh Zayed Hospital as a model of integrated, specialized healthcare, highlighting its commitment to providing world-class services in early cancer detection, breast cancer treatment, and psychological support. “What we see today at Beheya is a shining example of Egypt’s healthcare system, which prioritizes women’s health. This institution is more than just a medical facility; it’s a beacon for comprehensive care, offering a model that can be shared with Rwanda and other African countries to enhance women’s health across the continent,” El-Sobky stated.

The visit is part of Egypt’s broader strategy to strengthen healthcare ties with African nations, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. As El-Sobky emphasized, “Health cooperation with Africa is a cornerstone of our strategy, and Egypt’s experience in advancing women’s health stands as an exemplary model for the continent.”

The delegation, which included officials from Beheya and GAH, was given an in-depth tour of the hospital’s various departments. These included early breast cancer detection units, specialized treatment clinics, operating rooms, and psychological rehabilitation programs. The visit also featured a presentation on Beheya’s comprehensive services, including diagnostic interventions, consultations, research, and training.

Dr. El-Sobky expressed his admiration for the technological advancements at Beheya, noting that the hospital utilizes state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment. He also praised the hospital’s medical staff for their high level of expertise and commitment to international best practices in patient care.

Ambassador Munyuza was equally impressed, commending Egypt for its exceptional progress in women’s health and its forward-thinking healthcare strategy. “What we see in Egypt is an extraordinary healthcare experience,” he said. “This model could inspire other African nations, and we look forward to expanding our collaboration with Egypt to benefit from its leadership in this field and to bring this knowledge to Rwanda.”

Dr. Mohamed Amara, Beheya Foundation’s Executive Director, expressed appreciation for the visit, emphasizing that Beheya continues to evolve in its mission to provide high-quality healthcare. “Today’s visit marks a new chapter in strengthening cooperation with Rwanda and other African nations. We are committed to expanding our services, enhancing medical expertise, and supporting medical research and training for the benefit of women’s health in Egypt and beyond.”

The visit also underscored Egypt’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and enhancing healthcare services on a global scale. Dr. El-Sobky reiterated that the General Authority for Healthcare continues to expand collaborations with prestigious medical institutions both domestically and internationally. “Our goal is to enhance integration between public, private, and civil society institutions, ensuring a holistic approach to healthcare. We are particularly focused on strengthening our partnerships with African countries, including Rwanda, to share successful healthcare models in early cancer detection, treatment, and women’s health support,” El-Sobky concluded.

By reinforcing international healthcare collaboration, Egypt is positioning itself as a leader in regional and global healthcare development, advancing the health and well-being of women across Africa.
