The fair, one of the world’s largest and most influential tourism events, runs until March 6th, attracting thousands of global industry leaders and tourism professionals.

The opening ceremony brought together  Amb. Mohamed El-Badry, Egypt’s Ambassador to Germany, Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, and Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion. Other notable attendees included Mohamed Farag, Supervisor of the Tourism Office in Berlin, and Ahmed Nabil, Assistant Minister for Aviation and Follow-up.

Following the inauguration, Minister Fathi embarked on a thorough tour of Egypt’s pavilion, engaging with exhibitors and gathering their feedback. His visit provided a platform for productive discussions on expanding Egypt’s tourism sector, with a particular focus on increasing tourist arrivals from key markets, especially Germany.

Strategic Participation in ITB 2025

Minister Fathi emphasized the importance of Egypt’s participation in ITB 2025, noting that it serves as a unique opportunity to promote Egypt’s unparalleled wealth of tourism offerings. He described the fair as an essential venue for showcasing Egypt’s diverse tourism products, from its ancient heritage to modern beach resorts, in alignment with the Ministry’s vision and strategy for the sector.

“ITB 2025 offers us an invaluable chance to engage with global industry leaders and partners,” Minister Fathi stated. “This platform allows us to highlight Egypt’s distinct tourism offerings and communicate the latest developments in our sector. We are committed to fostering strategic partnerships and driving collaboration to enhance the flow of international tourists, particularly from the German market.”

Fathi also highlighted the significance of the German market, which has consistently been a top source of visitors to Egypt, especially for beach tourism, over the past three years.

A Pavilion That Celebrates Egypt’s Rich Heritage

Egypt’s pavilion at ITB 2025 has received widespread praise for its captivating design, which reflects the grandeur of the country’s ancient civilization. The pavilion features interactive displays that showcase Egypt’s diverse tourist destinations, each illustrating the country’s cultural richness and unique offerings. Visitors were also treated to traditional Egyptian music, street food, and handicrafts, adding to the immersive experience.

The pavilion caught the attention of key German figures, including the Mayor of Berlin, the Representative of the Ministry of Economy, the Chairman of ITB Berlin, and the President of the German Travel Association (DRV), all of whom took the opportunity to visit and tour the Egyptian stand. They engaged with Minister Fathi, discussing the latest tourism developments in Egypt, expressing their admiration for the pavilion, and even posing for photographs as a sign of solidarity and appreciation for Egypt’s tourism sector.

A Global Stage for Tourism Innovation and Growth

This year, ITB Berlin is themed “The World of Travel Lives Here,” with over 5,800 exhibitors from more than 170 countries showcasing their tourism offerings. The fair highlights the dynamic growth of the global tourism industry, emerging travel technologies, and the shift toward sustainable tourism practices.
