Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, officially inaugurated the new headquarters of TTEC, the world-renowned U.S. company specializing in customer experience technology and AI-driven digital customer service solutions. The facility is located within the technology hub in Maadi, Cairo, and is set to further enhance Egypt’s position as a key player in the global outsourcing industry, particularly in cross-border digital services.

The opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of officials, including Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA); Simon Garabet, Vice President for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at TTEC; Mahmoud Safrata, Head of Market Development at ITIDA; Amira Basyouni, TTEC’s Country Manager in Egypt; and Yasser Hida, Executive Director for Operations in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa at TTEC.

TTEC initially launched its operations in Egypt in 2023, marking a strong entry into the region. The company experienced remarkable growth, expanding its workforce to 260 employees by 2024. Last November, TTEC was granted a license by Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to establish and operate call centers. With a forward-looking strategy, TTEC plans to further invest in its operations, aiming to hire 800 employees by 2026 and expand its service offerings in customer support, fraud detection, content moderation, and other services.

Leveraging Egypt’s competitive advantages, including its highly skilled, multilingual workforce, TTEC delivers a wide array of customer experience services, including AI-backed cloud platforms, customer insights consulting, and support for industries such as tourism, technology, finance, healthcare, public services, telecommunications, and media.

Dr. Amr Talaat highlighted that TTEC’s expansion in Egypt reflects the growing confidence of international companies in Egypt’s investment climate. The country boasts a robust digital infrastructure and a young, well-trained workforce that aligns with global market needs. Talaat emphasized that Egypt’s modern business parks and technology centers offer companies an integrated operational environment, supporting both efficiency and business growth. He also underscored the government’s continuous efforts to strengthen the regulatory framework for the outsourcing sector, attract foreign investments, and provide new job opportunities.

Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, echoed these sentiments, noting that TTEC’s expansion is a testament to Egypt’s growing prominence in the global outsourcing landscape. He pointed out that Egypt’s multilingual talent pool is a key factor in attracting international companies, enabling them to provide tailored solutions to diverse global markets. ITIDA remains committed to enhancing Egypt’s competitiveness in the global BPO and IT outsourcing sectors, with a strong focus on driving digital exports.

John Abu, President of TTEC Engage, praised the company’s Cairo team for its exceptional commitment and operational excellence, which has made Egypt a vital hub in TTEC’s global network. He added that Egypt, as a rapidly growing center for human resources and innovation, offers immense potential to expand their service offerings and customer support solutions tailored to diverse regions and cultures.

Amira Basyouni, TTEC’s Country Manager in Egypt, noted that the Cairo center exemplifies the company’s commitment to tapping into Egypt’s talent pool and integrating advanced technologies like AI and analytics to enhance customer experiences. She expressed excitement about expanding operations and further investing in Egypt’s skilled professionals, whose contributions have played a significant role in the company’s success.

The inauguration was also attended by key figures from the Ministry of Communications and ITIDA, as well as global leaders from TTEC, including Wes Humphrey, Vice President for Customer Success Partnerships, and Billy Spiegel, Vice President of Sales and Growth Services. The company also garnered international recognition when it was recently named the “Best Place to Work” by Great Place to Work, a global organization specializing in workplace culture assessments.

TTEC, with over 40 years of experience, operates in 24 countries and employs more than 54,000 people. In 2024, the company generated over $2.46 billion in revenue. Its operations in Egypt mark a significant milestone in the country’s development as a leading hub for digital services and customer experience solutions, attracting investment, creating jobs, and contributing to the growth of Egypt’s digital economy.
