The Aswan Bootcamp Series is a new initiative aimed at empowering Upper Egypt’s entrepreneurs and supporting the region’s tech growth. Launched at the Creativa Innovation Hub in Aswan, the series focuses on equipping startups with essential skills and services.
Inaugural Event and Support
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology. Several key organizations, including ITIDA, Plug and Play Egypt, and USAID, support the initiative. Their involvement strengthens the program’s reach and resources.
Program Objectives and Target Startups
The primary goal of the Aswan Bootcamp Series is to enhance economic development in Upper Egypt. It aims to prepare startups in key areas like market development, financial management, product-market fit, and scalability. The program targets startups in industries such as agri-tech, health-tech, e-commerce, gov-tech, and tourism.
Structure of the Bootcamps
The program consists of five eight-day in-person bootcamps. Each bootcamp features workshops and one-on-one mentoring sessions. Experienced mentors and founders will guide participants, providing expert advice to help them overcome challenges.
Global Network and Continued Mentorship
The bootcamps leverage Plug and Play’s global network of experts, who will support startups in financial management, scalability, and commercialization. More than 60 startups are expected to benefit from this mentorship.
After the bootcamps, founders will continue to receive mentorship. They will also access networking opportunities with investors and entrepreneurs, expanding their connections and building a network for future collaborations.
Strengthening Upper Egypt’s Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
The Aswan Bootcamp Series marks a significant step toward developing Upper Egypt’s emerging tech ecosystem. The program provides startups with the tools and resources they need to succeed and grow in a competitive market.
