Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Ahmed Issa hosted a meeting with Ambassador Frank Hartmann, the Ambassador of Germany to Cairo, and Ambassador Georg Postinger, the Ambassador of Austria to Cairo, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
According to the Egypt Today website, the meetings were convened to assess the situation of tourists who had booked trips to Egypt through the German Travel and Tourism Group FTI, which recently filed for bankruptcy. The primary objective is to ensure that these tourists receive the services as per their contracts while they are present in various Egyptian tourist destinations. Additionally, the discussions aimed to address the outstanding dues of hotel establishments and Egyptian tourism companies that had contractual agreements with the FTI group.
Professor Youmna Al-Bahar, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs and Minister’s Office Affairs; Engineer Ahmed Youssef, Assistant Minister for Institutional Communication and the Ministry’s official spokesman; and Ambassador Khaled Tharwat, Advisor to the Minister for International Relations and General Supervisor of the General Administration of International Relations and Agreements in the Ministry, were present at both of these meetings.
