Videos of Rare Mako Shark at El Gouna, North of Hurghada Circulate Social Media

Over the past few days, a video of a dangerous mako shark appearing in the al-Gouna area north of Hurghada has gone viral.

Karim Sherif, a diver in the al-Gouna and Hurghada region, posted on Facebook that two sharks had been spotted near Hurghada and El-Gouna.

He explained that sharks are normal to be present at this time due to the beginning of the mating and egg-laying season between April and July. He also warned divers and swimmers to avoid deep or open water.

According to a source in the Red Sea reserves authority, they received a report about the appearance of a mako shark in the Abu-Minqar area.

As a result, monitoring and follow-up research teams were mobilized. However, no sharks were detected during the search operations.
