Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala Al Saeed has emphasized that the Egypt-UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF 2023-2027) represents a continuation of previous initiatives established under the earlier five-year partnership agreement (2018-2022) with the UN.
During the Inaugural Joint Steering Committee Meeting of the Arab Republic of Egypt and United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2023-2027 held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Saeed emphasized that the new agreement reaffirms a joint commitment to productive and constructive cooperation.
This is aimed at addressing national priorities outlined in the country’s sustainable development agenda (Egypt Vision 2030) and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The minister emphasized that these endeavors align with Egypt’s collaborative approach to executing development plans and initiatives, involving private entities and non-governmental organizations.
The minister also underscored the persistent challenges at national, regional, and global levels, emphasizing the need for unified efforts from all development partners.

The discussed points align with UN Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17), which aims to strengthen the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.
Saeed highlighted this during the meeting, which was attended by Minister of International Cooperation Rania el Mashat, UN Resident Coordinator in Egypt Elena Panova, and a number of representatives from relevant state bodies and UN agencies.
The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) serves as the primary tool for structuring and executing collaborative programs between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United Nations system in Egypt for the period of 2023 to 2027.
This framework is designed to align with Egypt’s Vision 2030, national sectoral strategies, the cooperation framework for sustainable development strategy in Egypt, and the priorities outlined in major policies, initiatives, and international human rights covenants.
