The National Council for Women’s Political Participation Committee, chaired by Dr. Rasha Mehdi, holds its regular meeting to discuss strategies for enhancing women’s political empowerment in line with Egypt Vision 2030 and the national women empowerment strategy.
The Political Participation Committee of the National Council for Women held its regular meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Rasha Mehdi, member of the Council and rapporteur of the committee, with the participation of committee members, at the Council’s headquarters and via video conference.
The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination and cooperation among national stakeholders to support women’s political empowerment efforts, in line with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, particularly in relation to increasing women’s representation in decision-making positions.
Discussions covered the political pillar of the national strategy for women’s empowerment, where members reviewed a set of proposals and ideas aimed at accelerating implementation, with a focus on expanding women’s participation in parliamentary and local councils as well as leadership positions.
The committee also explored proposals to further develop its working mechanisms in the coming period and discussed ways to enhance women’s political participation, along with other agenda updates.
