NCW Inks Cooperation Protocol to Implement Agricultural Waste Recycling Project

The President of the National Council for Women, Dr. Maya Morsi, has just signed a cooperation protocol with Ahmed Wafik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saint-Gobain International Company, to implement a project to recycle agricultural waste to produce organic fertilizer (compost) and empower rural women economically, in addition to working to preserve the environment and restore recycling, as part of the Council’s efforts to support and empower rural women economically.

In a statement issued last Monday, Dr. Maya Morsi expressed her happiness with the new partnership with the Saint-Gobain International Foundation, stressing that the Foundation has a strong belief in the importance of women’s role in advancing society.

She further explained that the protocol works to implement sustainable environmental economy projects by recycling agricultural waste and converting it into organic fertilizer through modern and simplified scientific techniques in the villages of Kafr Al-Sahbi and Tahanoub in Qalyubia Governorate.

On her part, Mai Mahmoud, Director General of Women’s Skills Development at the Council and the project manager confirmed in statements that the visit aimed for the trainees to benefit from the experiences and knowledge provided by the exhibition, communicate with experts and professionals in the agricultural and food products industry, and learn the latest innovations and technologies in this field, including sustainable production techniques and modern technology used in the food industry.
