Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli hailed the fruitful cooperation between the Electricity and Renewable Energy Ministry and ACWA Power Saudi company in several spheres, especially a 10-gigawatt wind power project.
The diplomat’s remarks came during his meeting on Monday with the CEO of ACWA Power, Marco Arcelli, on the sidelines of the signing of a document on land allocation for initiating studies on the development of a mega wind power plant in western Sohag, in Upper Egypt, with a capacity of 10 gigawatts.
ACWA Power is a developer, investor, co-owner, and operator of a portfolio of power generation and desalinated water production plants currently available in 10 countries, including the Middle East and North Africa, Southern Africa, and South East Asia regions.
Talks between the two sides covered cooperation in water desalination projects.
The Egyptian prime minister also underlined the cooperation between the two sides in providing electricity to around 11 M housing units and thousands of jobs.
