Egypt’s Agriculture Exports Increase By 18.24% Year On Year

Egypt’s agricultural exports soared by 18.24% year on year (YoY) to 4.654 million tons between January 2023 and July 5th, up from 3.936 million tons the previous year, according to Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al-Sayed Al-Qusair, citing a recent report issued by the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine.

According to the research, the most common Egyptian agricultural exports involve citrus, potatoes, fresh onions, sweet potatoes, pomegranates, garlics, strawberries, beans, and grapes.

Citrus topped the list of agricultural exports with 1.894 million tons between January 1st and July 5th, which was followed by fresh potato exports with 876,241 tons and onions with 323,783 tons.

Grapes were fourth on the list with total exports of 94,660 tons, while beans were fifth with 73,889 tons, and sweet potatoes were sixth with 54,090 tons.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s tomato exports placed seventh with a total of 44,259 tons, followed by strawberries in eighth place with a total of 23,295 tons, and garlic in ninth place with a total of 21,470 tons.
