The Japanese Prime Minister is on a three-day visit to Egypt, choosing it to be his first destination at the start of his Africa tour.
During this visit, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi holds an Egypt-Japan summit in Cairo.
The Egyptian-Japanese talks discuss ways to enhance the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and the state of peace and security at the international and regional levels.
The President said Egypt highly appreciates Japan’s contributions to its development path and national projects.
He further said the current visit of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to Egypt reflects the two countries’ interest in building on their historical relations at the official and popular levels.
His remarks came on Sunday, April 30, during a joint press conference with the Japanese premier, who is currently on tour to several African nations, especially since Japan will host the G7 Summit in Hiroshima city in June.
El-Sisi commended Japan’s backing of several national projects, notably the construction of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) and the establishment of Egyptian-Japanese schools and the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST).
