Red Sea International Film Festival’s “Women in Cinema” Honors Salma Abu Deif

The Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) and Vanity Fair Europe co-hosted the annual “Women in Cinema” gala during the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

The event was a tribute to six remarkable women who have left an indelible mark on the entertainment industry through their award-winning films, chart-topping music, and groundbreaking roles. Among them was the talented Egyptian actress Salma Abu Deif, who has made impressive progress, particularly during the last Ramadan season.

Abu Deif participated in a panel discussion, during which she discussed her journey, early beginnings, career breakthroughs, sources of inspiration, and the challenges that women face in the industry.

She also talked about her recent role in the TV series “Ela Al Talaq,” starring Dina El Sherbiny and Eyad Nassar, and how her portrayal of Malak Shehab in “Byn Al Sutoor” garnered significant attention on social media and further solidified her star status.
