Prime Minister Visits L’Oréal Egypt’s Factory in 10th of Ramadan Industrial Zone

Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly recently paid L’Oréal Egypt’s factory a visit where this global, leading beauty company combines the latest in technology with the highest in quality to offer internationally renowned products with a signature concept. Indeed, this visit came within the framework of the government’s direction to support the private sector and local manufacturing to help in positioning Egypt as a robust export center in the MENA region.

To start with, the visit witnessed the honorable participation of the Minister of Housing, Dr. Assem El Gazzar, Chairman of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Hossam Heiba, and several executives and leaders in the 10th Ramadan, Country Managing Director of L’Oréal Egypt, Dave Hughes, Regulatory & Public Affairs Director, Roba Ali, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability Responsible Director at L’Oréal Egypt, Nahla Mokhtar, Plant Director L’Oréal Egypt, Bassel Georges, along with a large number of esteemed journalists.

During the visit, Madbouly has the chance to inspect the state-of-the-art production facility, and the overall manufacturing process, where he highlighted the factory’s ultimate commitment to abiding by L’Oreal’s international standards, in addition to strictly adhering to safety and environmental standards. Moreover, he has received a presentation explaining L’Oreal Egypt’s relentless endeavors, which has been present in the Egyptian market since 2009, offering 14 international products. Madbouly was also introduced to the various products that get manufactured at the factory, built on an area of 17 thousand square meters.

Moreover, Madbouly has also inspected the factory’s production lines that rely on the latest manufacturing technologies and the most innovative methods, namely automatic packaging and the control of product specifications. It is also worth noting that all of the aforementioned sustainable development practices are believed to offer L’Oreal’s products within a guaranteed provision of high quality and efficiency.

This visit has also set the record straight pertinent to some statistics and numbers, where it was shown to the entire turnout that L’Oreal Egypt’s factory’s investments have reached €100 million since the beginning of its operations in Egypt, making it a crucial regional hub for manufacturing and exporting various L’Oréal products to 19 countries, through an 85% of its production.

To further explicate, L’Oréal considers the Egyptian market to be one of the most promising markets in the region. For that reason, the global leader is certainly keen on empowering the local industry since L’Oréal Egypt’s factory relies on the support of local suppliers, with 85% for packaging materials and 30% for raw materials. Not to mention that over the years, the factory managed to reduce its environmental footprint by reducing its CO2 emission by -50%, water by -30%, and waste by 51%. The factory is also LEED certified and received two awards for its efforts from the Federation of the Egyptian Industries and from the Arab League during its first Sustainability Day Summit.
