Minister of International Cooperation, Rania Al-Mashat, announced last Saturday that Egypt will host the annual joint meetings of Arab financial institutions next year.

Mashat stated: The government is keen on providing a suitable environment for holding these meetings based on the experience of organizing international conferences, including Egypt’s hosting and presidency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The minister added: The annual meetings of the joint Arab financial institutions represent an important platform for consultation, exchanging views and experiences, evaluating achievements, and enhancing their role in laying the foundations for Arab economic integration and joint action.

Furthermore, she pointed out that these meetings act as a driving force in advancing the Arab financial institutions’ mission to support sustainable development efforts in Arab countries.

Egypt made one of the highest contributions to the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, valued at 183.2 M Kuwaiti dinars.

Egypt also contributed US$20 M to the special account for financing small and medium-sized private sector projects in Arab countries and 1.9 M Kuwaiti dinars to the Arab Investment Guarantee Corporation.
