PM Meets Members of Qatari Chamber, Qatari Businessmen Association

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli asserted that the Egyptian government has embraced a strong economic reform that was praised by various international foundations over the past years.

This came during the premier’s meeting last Tuesday with members of the Qatari Chamber, and the Qatari Businessmen Association in the presence of members of the Egyptian delegation accompanying the premier on his current visit to Doha, Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani and First Deputy Chairman of the Qatari Businessmen Association Hussain Ibrahim Al-Fardan.

Addressing the gathering, Madbouli extended thanks to Qatar for the warm welcome of the Egyptian delegation on their first official visit to Qatar, praising the great leap achieved by Doha in the development of the country and the organization of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

He asserted that he was keen on meeting with Qatari businessmen, to brief them on the economic situation in Egypt and Cairo’s efforts to propel investments and beef them up in the coming phase.

The premier reviewed the challenges countered by Egypt in the past phase, including terrorism combat and the enhancement of the state’s infrastructure in the various sectors, the construction of a national road network, as well as buttressing foreign investments.

He also briefed them on the steps and measures taken by the state to counter the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and the international economic crisis, noting that the state has taken an approach to involve the private sector in all vital efforts to boost the economic performance and implement various key projects.

Madbouli briefed the gathering on the state’s incentives to investors in the sectors of agriculture, industry, tourism, and advanced industries, noting that the unemployment rate reduced from 18 percent to 7.2 through implementing several developmental and national projects as the State has succeeded in providing 5 million job opportunities.
