NWC approves raising minimum wage to EGP 2,700

The National Wages Council (NWC) has approved increasing the minimum monthly wage of private sector’s employees from EGP 2,400 to EGP 2,700 as of January.

The approval came on Thursday at the NWC’s meeting, under Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El Saeed, in the presence of the ministers of supply, manpower and social solidarity and a host of respective officials.

The council also agreed that the minimum of annual bonus of the private sector shall be EGP100 as of January.

El Saeed highlighted the state’s great efforts on striking balance between securing jobs and setting a reasonable minimum of wages.
