Nevine El-Kabbaj Announces the Establishment of an Exceptional Sub-Account with the Arab Fund to Support Gaza

The Minister of Social Solidarity has officially declared the establishment of an exceptional sub-account within the Arab Fund for Social Action, specifically aimed at extending support to the Palestinian people residing in the Gaza Strip.

Nevine El-Kabbaj, the Minister of Social Solidarity and Chairman of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs has made an announcement regarding Resolution No. 1003 of the 43rd Session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs on Support and Relief to the Gaza Strip. As per the resolution, an extraordinary sub-account within the Arab Social Fund Accounts has been decided to be opened. This decision was taken to provide support and relief to the Gaza Strip.

The Minister of Social Solidarity has highlighted the significant challenges that civilians in Gaza are currently facing. In this regard, the Arab Republic of Egypt has committed all its resources and efforts to provide the necessary support and meet the population’s needs in this afflicted region. We extend our unwavering commitment to providing support and assistance to everyone in the sector during these challenging situations. We will continue to work diligently to maintain the humanitarian aid and relief bridge to ensure its accessibility to all in need.

El-Kabbaj reported that the Egyptian Red Crescent has been playing a crucial role in assisting authorities during times of disaster and crisis. As a result, the Association has been working at full capacity to promote the construction of a humanitarian bridge and has been coordinating with local and international relief agencies and organizations to provide urgent humanitarian assistance and support to the Gaza Strip.

Continuous coordination has been established between the Egyptian Red Crescent, the Palestinian Red Crescent, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC), and United Nations organizations to identify and cater to the pressing priorities and needs of the people in the Gaza Strip.
