NCW’s Tahwisha App Sets 3-Year Plan For Reaching 2.2M Women

Tahwisha Savings application targets extending its customer base, offering its services to 2.2 women across Egypt in the coming three years, announced member of the National Council for Women (NCW) Amr Suleiman during a meeting held on Monday.

The meeting was organized by the council with several delegations and representatives from UN Women Egypt, the European Union, the Central Bank of Egypt, and the Embassy of the Netherlands.

The NCW’s Tahwisha application was launched in March 2022 to offer savings and loans to rural women in different governorates and rural villages to financially empower them.

Along with all the NCW’s established savings and loans initiatives, Tahwisha also aims to raise awareness, spread financial and digital literacy as well as provide women with high-quality financial services, Suleiman said in the meeting.

NWC encourages savings and raises awareness by using financial technology in savings and loaning interchangeably, by integrating 100,000 women into the formal financial sector to achieve economic empowerment for women by helping to digitize savings and lending to groups using the ‘Tahwisha’ app.
