The National Council for Women (NCW) applauded Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa’s decision to select 16 female leaders, including undersecretaries and directors-general, for the first time in the ministry’s history.
NCW President Maya Morsi hailed the ruling as a “new victory for Egyptian women.” “It reflects Gomaa’s belief in the capabilities and potentials of women and his commitment to breaking the glass ceiling for their access to leadership positions in the ministry, in line with the Egyptian state’s approach to supporting and empowering women.”
She moved on to congratulate all of the women who had gained top roles in the ministry, wishing them continued success and happiness.
