- “NCW” holds an annual forum of units Combating violence against women in Egyptian universities
The National Council for Women, chaired by Dr Maya Morsi, held the annual meeting of units Combating violence against women in Egyptian universities, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
This came after the National Council of Women launched a 16-day campaign to eliminate violence against women, under the banner of Kony, which runs from November 25 to December 10.
In the same context, Sally Zahny, Director of Women’s Programs at the United Nations Population Fund, explained the importance of these units in implementing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on the fifth goal related to the empowerment of women and girls and the tenth goal related to reducing inequalities, Stressing the importance of working with the guide to activate the role of the units, which was issued by the Council in 2019 and includes procedural steps for the unit’s work, its objectives, and complaint mechanisms.
