NCW Congratulates Egyptian Women Who Won “Arab World Institute” Award

Dr. Maya Morsi, Head of the National Council for Women, expressed her pride in the victory of young Egyptian women in the “Arab World Institute” (AWI) award in Paris (entrepreneurial talent category), the first of its kind in France, which aims to shed light on the richness and diversity of Arab culture.

Through her Official Facebook page, she congratulated the project’s chief designer, Lina Mohamed El-Orabi, who succeeded through her designs in highlighting the authentic Egyptian heritage; she posted: An Egyptian company wins, and Egyptian women are behind this well-deserved victory.

Moreover, Morsi congratulated the Egyptian company, Don Tanani, for winning the Arab World Institute award in the entrepreneurship category, as the group was able to revive the Egyptian furniture design.

The Arab World Institute in Paris presented the awards to designers of the Arab world in four categories:

1. Emerging Talent Award for designers or architects under the age of 34 and students with the possibility of cooperation with partners, craftsmen, or companies

2. Pioneering Talent Award for design studios, engineering offices, and companies 

3. The ” Grand Prize” for an eye-catching project whose values ​​fall within the transfer of knowledge, social and environmental participation, inclusiveness, and the provision of luxury and are in harmony with the foundations of the Arab World Design Institute award

4. The ” Grand Honor Award” in honor of the path of an active personality in the field of design in the Arab world

The Institute of the Arab World further stated that this award comes from its message that would show the richness and diversity of Arab culture, as it aims to highlight a design project that was completed between September 1, 2021, and August 31, 2023, by a young designer and a design company from the Arab League countries or produced in one of these countries.

It is noteworthy that the Egyptian company Don Tanani was established under the leadership of Alia El Tanani, a furniture brand and a design house dedicated to promoting Egyptian craftsmanship and design, with an ambition that represents the highest excellence of Egyptian design in the world stage, and its works inspired by the history of Egyptian art.
