Coinciding with October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the National Council for Women has lighted up its main building in pink lights to show its support for this important cause.

On her part, the President of the Council, Dr. Maya Morsi, confirmed that lighting the Council building in pink is an affirmation of its full support for the great Egyptian women fighting breast cancer.

She stressed that the Egyptian President cares a great deal about women’s health issues, believing that women’s health is an essential part of the safety, stability, and health of the family and society, which is clearly evident through the initiatives launched by the Egyptian state for women in particular, most notably the early breast cancer detection initiative.

Morsi further explained that the Initiative is considered one of the most important initiatives launched by Egypt and has no parallel in the world. It follows the latest international protocols for treating breast cancer and has achieved massive success in reducing breast tumors and contributed to preventing women from reaching the late stages thanks to early detection.

Moreover, the President of the Council called on all women to conduct early detection of breast cancer and to periodically check on their health through the sustainable initiative.
