Ministry of International Cooperation Discusses with UNIDO Cooperation in Green Industries

Minister of International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat and Patrick Jean Gilabert, the Representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)’s Regional Office Hub in Egypt, discussed potential avenues for bilateral cooperation in various areas related to industrial development and green industries.

The discussion aimed to explore ways in which both parties could support each other in these fields, paving the way for mutually beneficial collaborations.

At the meeting held in the headquarters of the Ministry of International Cooperation located in the New Administrative Capital, both parties had an opportunity to discuss the existing portfolio of development cooperation. The discussion aimed to probe and explore the current state of the portfolio, and to identify potential opportunities for further collaboration.

During the meeting, the significance of collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) was emphasized by Mashat. This collaboration is crucial for Egypt to attain comprehensive and sustainable industrial development in line with the UNIDO Program for Country Partnership (PCP) for 2021-2025.

This program will operate under the broader framework of strategic partnership between Egypt and the United Nations to promote cooperation towards achieving sustainable development.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) has allocated a total value of $52 million towards 18 ongoing projects in Egypt.
